I tend to get about six hours of sleep a night.
I don’t know many people who, like me, don’t need or use an alarm clock. I go to sleep when I am tired, and I just wake up in the morning, typically about six hours later.
I have an ability which seems fairly unusual in that if I need to get up in the morning at a certain time, I think about it at night before I go to bed, and the next morning I just wake up at that time. My brain has a pretty good sense of the passage of time, even when I am asleep.
I function best on seven hours of sleep ever night. Left to my own devices I won’t sleep much more than that.
But since our toddler was born, six to six and a half is what I get. I crave alone time and that last hour of the day that I can spend alone is so alluring.
