  1. I think that “Turn the other cheek” is the option that is advocated for in most of our parables and cultural stories (like the Christian Bible, for instance). And I agree.

    However, I think that in the United States right now, the prevailing attitude is that if someone hits you, you have to hit them twice as hard to prevent them from hitting you again. I fear that is not sustainable. As the saying goes, an eye for an eye makes everyone blind.
