Everyone needs to eat their feelings every once and awhile. When the mood strikes, what is your favorite comfort food?

Actually, though it might seem odd, my comfort food is roasted salted peanuts. Most days of the week.
They don’t give me heartburn like sweet things do (they settle my stomach nicely), and I can stretch out the enjoyment of them for a long time. In addition, since salt isn’t a problem for me, I feel happy that I’m getting good protein and other health benefits, while avoiding carbs almost entirely.
I’m like you, Eleanor, in that salt is not a problem. However, while I like peanuts, I think as a nutty snack I prefer almonds. Although lately I find most nuts getting stale very quickly — or maybe I’m just becoming more sensitive to it.
I’m going to go with the classic pasta with marinara sauce.
