We travel to see people more than half the time, but I’d prefer the opposite, since I enjoy newness above most everything else.
I travel to see people; my wife travels to see places.
Early on in our relationship, we went to several places where I knew somebody that coincided with somewhere she had never been. Those dried up pretty quickly, and now (well, pre-COVID, when traveling extensively was an option) it is one of the few areas of friction in our marriage.
