Flying used to be considered a luxury, but as the number of travellers increased and with security policies put in place after 9/11, it has become long, tiring, and generally unpleasant.
Which is too bad, because it detracts from just what a miracle it is to be able to travel just about anywhere on our planet we want to go within a 24 hour span.
With all that said, driving is more convenient, and it gives us more control over exactly what our route is, when we leave, if we have an unexpected stop, and so on. No wonder America has a love affair with the automobile. I just hope you don’t mind breathing exhaust while you are trapped in a traffic jam.
