When you are traveling great distances by car, do you prefer the highway, to get where you wants as quickly as possible? Or back roads, to see all there is to see?

I much prefer back roads. Of course, they are much slower, so you have to have the luxury of time, which is not always the case.
And, of course, there is the fact that bicycles are not allowed on highways in most places.
