I haven’t had any formal or informal training in lighting, composition, framing, and so on. Then again, I don’t tend to take very many pictures.
In my limited experience, it seems like a lot of people own ring lights, so there does seem to be a baseline knowledge about lighting. I assume they are learning about best practices somewhere, but I have no idea where.
I’m quite knowledgeable about using my smartphone’s functions. I also understand a fair amount about framing a picture well. However, I am quite frustrated that despite taking a few classes and seeking advice from those in the know, I cannot figure out how to use a professional camera.
