When it comes to a reference book, do you prefer a dictionary, or a thesaurus? Has your choice changed over time?

I like them both, and I have one of each in my personal library. Forced to pick one, I guess I’d go with dictionary, because I love learning new words.
I grab—well, I suppose I should say use—an online thesaurus far more often than a dictionary.
