I love the south of France. I particularly adore the city of Nice. Its old town with its twisty pedestrian walkways, its ample gelato shops, its nestling against the beautiful Mediterranean Sea, and its beautiful stone beaches make it a special travel destination.
It doesn’t hurt that my wife has a PhD in French and is still fluent in the language. While many of the shop owners have a working knowledge of English and Italian (and probably more languages), I love just having Rebecca communicate on my behalf as I love to hear her speak French. She only does so when we travel.
Right now my favorite is Chicago because I have family there. Next wood be St. Augustine, Florida – more family. Next would be Bolivia and Argentina – more family. I once applied for a job at an airline so we could travel free. No luck. 🙁
If I did travel, which I don’t. I would love to be able to go to Canada.
I don’t think the culture is much different than the US. But I believe the scenery would be extraordinary.
If I were looking for a different culture, I would consider Switzerland or Norway, because that is my heritage supposedly .

I haven’t traveled much beyond locally but, we go camping every year in the Olympic National Park. It’s one of my favorite places in the state.
