  1. My husband and I went to the Washington state fair. We wandered through the art entry exhibit and looked at the quilt and canned good entries. We spent time in the agricultural barn, looking at all the produce entries (I didn’t take a prize this year, but my son took 3rd place again in the sunflower competition). We oohed and ahhed over three day old piglets and giant pumpkins. We indulged in greasy, sugary fair food.
    It was a fun day!

  2. Yesterday I got to spend a couple hours with Fran Heitzman, the 90-something founder of Bridging, Inc. – a fabulous organization that gives people a hand when they need help. Hoping some of what he has will “rub off on me”.

  3. I got to spend some time with women for a while. They were very nice to be with for a change.
I gave two of them the best massage I believe they ever had.
To me seeing how much they enjoyed that special touch was a good thing and alot of fun.

  4. This past Labor Day weekend included my birthday. Rebecca and I went out for dinner at the Brasa on Grand Avenue in St. Paul. Macaroni and cheese, yuca, creamed spinach, black beans and rice … scrumptious. Next, we stopped at Wet Paint just before closing time. I quickly picked out some funky pens and a pen case as my present. We ended the date with ice cream at Izzy’s. I had one scoop of dark chocolate, one scoop of some of the best salted caramel I’ve ever had, and an Izzy’s scoop of coffee ice cream. And all was good.
