The Monastery of the Heart, An Invitation to a Meaningful Life, by Joan Chittister. It’s sitting next to me now. I read it a few years ago and want to look at it again. Sister Joan has spoken at my church and is someone I admire a lot for her views on reforming the church and our society.
A number of books are on my to read list. Here’s a batch near the top:
A History of God, by Karen Armstrong
Hyperbole and a Half, by Allie Brosh
And the Mountains Echoed, by Khaled Hosseini
Whose Freedom, by George Lakoff
The Noonday Demon: An Atlas of Depression, by Andrew Solomon
An Edible History of Humanity, by Tom Standage
The Goldfinch, by Donna Tartt
The Mayo Clinic: Faith, Hope, Sorrow Companion book to the Ken Burns PBS show
The State of Sorrow by Melinda Salisbury
Virginia Hamilton-America’s Children’s Book Author by Julie Rubini
2 of these are in a book bag in my car. the other bedside.
and about 5 right behind them, ready to go. I can never get enough….lol.
