At 23, when I was 3 months pregnant with my second son, I developed double pneumonia. By the time I was admitted to the hospital I had a collapsed lung and they had to put in a breathing tube. I was in ICU for 3 days and general care for a further 4. I was told that had I waited another 12 hours, I would likely have died.
