Concrete Or Abstract?

When you are trying to learn something, do you find it easier to think about a concrete example? Or is it better to ponder an abstract principle?

Concrete Or Abstract?

  1. The question is abstract and I could answer better if there were a clear example. I guess that answers the question!

  2. Concrete examples might be the best way to learn things like, say, how to change the oil in my car, or other things one might need to know in the practical areas of life.
Abstract examples might be more helpful in learning about the more emotional, spiritual, or mystical areas of life.
In any event…at least from my experience… a both/and approach works better in most cases than the either/or approach.
