Some place is ‘x’ far away “as a crow flies.”
I’m not sure that it is my favorite, but I like the saying, “The bee’s knees”. I like to imagine the little tiny knees on the little tiny bees.
My Mom liked to say “It’s the thought that counts”. I found myself saying it just the other day, when sending a card to someone.
C’est la vie and que será, será. I use them all the time. Helps me put things in perspective
Yesterday a friend of mine celebrated his 100th birthday. By coincidence I ran across the following quote from the great baseball pitcher Satchel Paige: “How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you were?” Maybe this is wishful thinking, but if I didn’t know how old I was, I’d guess 10 or 20 years younger. Feeling grateful!
