Each year around Thanksgiving, I start to take stock of the year that’s near an end. I see what I’ve accomplished and what needs improving. I then try to develop habits (or continue those that are working) to feel like I’m entering the new year with solid experience, demonstrating I can keep up the good work. For example, if I needed to start exercising (which I don’t), I’d consider joining a gym in late November. That way, New Year’s Day can become an achievable goal for habit development and a springboard for continued commitment
