I’ll admit, I’m not one for sentimentality. As a teenager, I held onto all sorts of family keepsakes, only to eventually realize that most had little connection to my actual experiences with my family. That said, I have held onto a story my Grandma Raines wrote about her life, titled “When It Raines, It Pours.” It’s a fascinating account of her moving from Paynesville, Minnesota, to Minneapolis, where she married my Grandpa and raised their family of seven.
